Through A Feminine Lens @Longwood Art Gallery
Art Tour and Conversation. Thank you! Juanita Lanzo, Longwood Art Gallery At Hostos, Bronx Art Guide. I like to say my photography is about portraits that show diversity, culture, awareness and empower a women. I find that often we are stereotyped of our femininity, body type and overlooked as vulnerable. There’s also an image presenting queerness and the struggle of breaking the chain of being the best version of us.
This exhibition features seven perspectives on gender equity, race and immigration by photo and photo based women of color living and working in the Bronx. Participating artists include: Christa David, Lisa Dubois, Maria Estevez, Melanie Gonzalez, Ijeoma Iheanacho, Adeline Lulo and Gloria Zapata.
